Our mission at ONE NINE for Humanity is always to be giving back to people and communities in any way we can. With this in mind we decided to reach out and give back to a local family in need $1000 bedroom makeover contest sponsored by ONE NINE Architecture. Families from all over Southern California submitted their children’s bedrooms that are in desperate need of a makeover. After selecting and meeting with our contest winner we felt so moved by their story we decided to do more! We were able to walk through the entire home with the family and see what was started 7 years ago as a remodel has fallen wayside to long work hours and the overwhelming circumstances of starting your own business. We knew right then and there we wanted to do more! Utilizing our relationships with other non-profits and business across the country we are working on an extensive remodel of the entire home at no cost to the family. Since completing Rosalyn’s bedroom, we decided to also help her three brother’s makeover their bedroom as well. When we went to visit the house, we were shocked that all three brothers share a room with only one bed. We hope renovating their room will allow each of them to have their own space to sleep.
